Sam grinned widely at Hela looking back over her shoulder. Sam had already spotted a straggler wandering, apparently looking around for his comrades. Samantha crouched down like a tiger, readying to pounce, eyes wide and focused on her prey.

As she was crouched she made a hand sign to Hela to let her know what was going on, pointing to the mutant they were hunting and then making a round gesture to say "go around that way" Sam had every intention of running this guy straight into ambush. At times like this Sam was much like a lioness, using others to help her pin in the antelope. Sam snuck closer silently while her prey was unaware of her.

Hela was not one to take orders from Sam but she too saw the lone mutant and she crouched, she crept as well, moving to flank the one they were stalking. Golden eyes narrowed as she gripped the katana's handle. Two silent stalkers creeping in on this horn headed creature.

Hela couldn't help but relish the irony of prey turned predators, she loved turning things around, making the powerful bleed out before her. It always reminded her of those few missions she and Ed alone knew about. The ones where they indulged the feral, bestial nature that they both shared. Soon... soon his guts would decorate her blade.

Lynn saw it, long before any one else could, Hela and Sam were near a font of enemies, "Troll, Exert. Pick up the pace, Kit kat and Nagarina found a nest. Help them, looks like they are ambushing..." Something twisted in her stomach, something told her that Sam and Hela were not setting up and ambush so much as they were falling into one.

Troll caught the scent on the air and realized how many different smells there were. Seemed like twelve or more. Hard to tell, soooo much blood.

He picked up the pace and ran with that axe of his still hefted over the shoulder. An almost vindictive grin crossed his face as he knew he was going to ruin the ambush. At least he hoped he would.

A booming voice came from him, almost startling himself with its strength and confidence. It made him, happy in a way.

"KitKat, Nagarina... It's a trap. It's a..."

As he tried to finish, a large four-armed brute erupted from the ground before him and knocked him down.

Troll rolled with it and was quick back to his feet, giving the axe a mighty swing. The brute had crystal formation on its forearm and was able to deflect with little harm.

He could hear other shapes springing up towards his companions but he had his own problems.

Raking claws swept at him as he worked on keeping his hide and giving swings back when he could.

When Troll gave the warning, something ugly came out of the ground and attacked him. Her eyes wide, she looked at the ground past Troll for confirmation of more creatures. Two rose right at her feet, almost elliciting a scream from her. She settled for a "Shit!" and jumped out of the way of grabbing mits. She, unlike her tall friend, didn't have a large weapon, though it would probably make her look more humorous--the element of surprise wasn't lost on others, she had enough of an edge.

The first one that reached for her was furry and brown with large and sharp teeth. There was something about the way it looked at her--like it was hocking up something. With it coming out of the ground and reaching for her, she wasn't sure what it was planning. All she knew what that she wanted nothing to do with it, and she was only a little shocked that something else grabbed her foot. It came out of the ground and she twisted out of its grip--she loved having super strength, but was disappointed that she didn't take an arm with her. This one was black with white eyes and large, dull teeth. . .

She hurried back towards the first Ugly. Re-evaluation of the situation was in order, she decided to go for calm and calculating for better leverage.

Sam Had been seconds from jumping when a voice called to the pair warning them it was a trap. And just like that the topography of the battle field changed. Seeming to come from nothing, more mutants jumped from behind objects and even more leapt out of the ground. Their "straggler" turned to grin at the pair with a smile that went far to far up his face.

"You slick shit..." Sam hissed quietly as she quickly recalculated her own odds and her needs in the battle. She was not afforded long. Grins lurched forward marking the closing of the half circle in front of her. Four ugly faces we marching towards her. Sam straightened herself and slid her claws out taking a modified boxing stance. Grins was first, He lunged at her and she grabbed his head and tossed the spikey thing into the nearest enemy. The tree like mutant growled as Grins horns stuck in it's bark like flesh.

Hela was shocked when the call came out, not because it had startled her but because the ground below her shifted and her balance was quite upset. A quick flick of her wrist and the katana was pointed down as the thing quickly burrowed up at her.

And just like a mole in a spring trap when it's star nosed face hit the surface it's head was stabbed through as Hela regained her balance with the help of the sword planted in the ground below her. Her balance was not maintained for long as a long bodied gecko like creature sprang from the ground only feet away. The gecko snapped at her face as she rolled away from it, she came up facing the creature crouched and angry but without her katana. It twisted in front of the blade with a sly smirk.

Lynn's heart stopped as Hela and Sam got themselves into the middle of a very bad situation. No less than nine mutants had begun attacking the cleanup party. Lynn reacted immediately.

"Snake pit! The cleanup is ambushed and outnumbered. Do we have assistance?!" Lynn was checking through her bag of goodies to see if there was anything she could do with the pods from where they were now sitting idle. She hoped there was some assistance waiting for the small group. But in her mind she knew that the small group was composed of some fo the strongest members of the group.

Dean Julius, codename Loric, pondered the situation and made a realization with a growl.

"No assistance to be had... They are on their own."

He could feel it coming, another attack and he couldn't fall for the new trap out there.

Alano's eyes grew wide at the communication and turned to protest vehemently. That was his chica out there. His Samantha. How dare their leader leave them.

Then he felt it. Skeleton structures of a sizable number of incoming. Alano realized why the decision was made. They couldn't leave the camp because it would fall. He hated it but he knew what the only compromise would be.

Alano's eyes grew cold as he prepared to enact that compromise of orders and instinct. Repel the new wave fast enough and THEN save Samantha and the others.

"They are coming, Loric. I can feel them."

Troll's eyes adjusted as he could make out more of the attackers and especially what was going for Exert.

Call it a bit of male chauvinism but he was compelled to leap to her aid against her multiple foes, despite the realization she could handle being hit with a tank.

He growled at his four armed foe, feinting with his axe at its head and arms before quickly closing in to trip it. Even before it hit the ground, Troll had leaped over to Exert, using the momentum to bring his axe down into the skull of Big mouthed, black fuzzball.

Troll winked at Exert.

Kiela was shocked when Troll leapt over her and bashed in the Ugly's head with his weapon of choice, a gigantic axe. He was very graceful, and part of her was slightly flattered that he'd taken care of it. Teamwork, though, that was important. "Thanks, Troll!" she said with a smirk. She would drop it ASAP. Without a second thought, she turned to see the second creature still choking on something in his throat, and she realized it was spit of some kind, probably dangerous. Shit! She rolled forward to rest under its' belly, and with ease grabbed it around the throat and pulled it overhead.

It plummeted forward and hit the ground face first. It clawed at her, snapping its' sharp jaws and starting to spit. Her eyes went wide as something on her hand began to sting. On her hand was a glob of saliva, but it was eating through her skin slowly. Her hand released it, watching it stagger up. Wiping off the acid, she knew she needed to crush its' throat to prevent a second occurrence. "It spits acid, watch out!" She called out to anyone in proximity. "I'll take care of it!" She leaped for it, it dodged and spit again. She rolled out to avoid, it came around to meet her.

It was on her, fast like a lizard but not looking like one. She grabbed a fistful of dirt and threw. It screeched and she switched places with it, grabbing its throat in the process. "I won't let you hurt them." Her body was getting lighter. There was an indent in the ground under it, and she heard a crack as she broke its neck.

Ha.

Lynn bit back a hissing remark to Ed. That was their lover. Hela was out there and outnumbered. She knew he couln't go help though, there were still infirm being bundled into the vans. Her five minute deadline had not been reasonable. WHile lynn was probably the last to see the rest of the attack she ceratinly saw all of it.

"Snake pit! Incoming and lots of them. This is the second wave for sure and they are going all out!" Lynn clicked up the buzz of the pods but even with the pods this was going to be tight. It was like the canabals multiplied while they were hiding.

Sam grinned wikedly at the grinning creature with it's head stuck in it's companion. "Not so slick now." she hissed just before her claws ripped into his exposed neck as he tried to free himself. The tree howled as it tried to rid it's self of the sliver in it's side two more lunged at her and she dodged the pair as they reached for her, sliding quickly between them. Now that she had exposed back for a second a sweeping kick took the legs out and two canables onto the ground.

"Thwick" the dead weight was removed from the tree and sam was faster than it was. It tried to lob it's dead compatriot but she dodged the bodie and scampered around to the trees backside... and began to happiely scale it. adding insult to injury she used it as a scratching post on her way up while avoiding the trunk like limbs trying to knock her of.

Hela growled a low menicing growl at the mutant between her and her sword. "Lovely blade" It hissed at her carresing the handle. Hela sneared at it and stapped back quickly. "Let me show you what it can do!" Hela ran from her crouched position straight at the geco creature... right up till the last moment. As it looked like she would charge straight into him she did an amazing gymnastic move, planting her hands infront of her and boundign off them into the air, up and over the geco.

The slick lizard screamed as it swiped for her but she wasn't there. It watched her leap over it astounded for far too long. the wooman landed on her feet and pulled the sword form it's sheath in the head of a mole and flicked the tip across it's tail grinning like a cheshire. "now that I have my sword... I'll skewer you with it."

Loric was already tensing up. He knew Lynn was pissed and Hela was on her own and outnumbered, even with the clean up crew.

Then he could simply hear them. About twenty of them, hooting and hollering as they dashed over rocks and trees, leaping like monkeys and lizards from all sides.

He gripped his sword and thought about the guns again. No, they were surrounded and the guns would just complicate things. They never really were his forte' anyway.

"Engage the enemy, remove the threat."

Twas a simple order and he moved quickly to greet the attackers, already putting one down with a nasty swipe of the blade.

Bones' eyes narrowed as he too saw them charging into view. They were moving too quick as a group to try and stop the easy way but...

He quirked an eyebrow and twenty yards out, a green skinned and fanged bad guy's spine bent sharply at a ninety degree angle to the left mid jump.

He then focused on the bone warriors he had made and the bones of the already fallen from the last wave. His grew wide as his pushed his will into the bones and made them rise from the bodies, merging in floating streams into his skeletons, making them larger and nastier. It was taxing, however, and only two large golem-esque things were made.

His breath ragged, he sent the two forward and was charged by something big and red. It was going to suck to divide his attention.

The four armed thing was up again and charging at Troll and Exert, the crystals on its arms flashing a bit in the moonlight. It raked claws at the both of them.

Troll did his best to dodge, taking a few swipes didn't matter as they closed quickly. However, it was getting way to canny on his axe swings, parrying with those four damn crystal plated arms.

She had already finished the Acid spitter so the warning was rather moot now. But Big and Blue was still here, mauling away.

Tired of it, Trolled barked to Exert.

She'd had just enough time to roll off the body of the Lizard Ugly before a clawed hand came down to strike her. Teamwork. Team. Troll shouted an order and she followed without hesitation. The Blue Ugly was creating a mess, one she knew she'd have to clean up. After gathering her bearings, she charged its' front and, pushing down the light feeling surrounding her so she didn't push him into the next county, tackled the monster at the waist.

They both hit the ground, her head on its foul smelling body as her arms were pinned beneath it. She didn't want it moving a muscle. Two of its' bear claws were no longer swiping another body but clawing at hers, digging into her shoulders and possibly contaminating her blood with the blood of its' victims. She painfully fished one of her arms out from underneath it and pried one bear claw from her shoulder, surprised at the grip it had taken. That one hurt and part of her was starting to see spots. It was stronger with its bone structure, but even crystals could be shattered under the right influence.

With most of her weight on its' legs and pelvic bone, she knew it was anchored. What was it made of, diamonds?!

Lynn Glared at the screen. Those were her people out there and she was going to do something about it. She directed the pods quickly to cluster together and work as a small group, focusing on one enemy at a time while not getting in the way of the real members of the team.

"Loric. I'm giving you a little bit of a hand. Don't know how much these pods have left but their going to give it." She couldn't just sit there and gnaw her fingernails to the bone, she had to do something. If manifesting herself as a group of electronic hovering pods would allow her to have an effect, she would do it. In truth she knew she wasn't going to be that effective as cover fire, the pods would be out of amo soon so best to concentrate that amo into one or two opponents and take some down.

"There" She whispered to herself as she chose her first victim.

Sam was having a grand ole time on the critters back. The tree was leaking sap everywhere from it's backside and she had made sizable work on it. Then it changed tactics. It's two friends were back on their feet and the tree thing was pissed. It had decided that faling on it's injured back would be a grand idea if it woudl stop it from getting injured more. So it fell.

Sam yelped as she felt the momentum start picking up, the body she was attached to was quickly going towards the ground. Sam had no choice but to scamper off and away from the tree thing. Now that she was back on the ground the other two started after her, trying to pin her in on either side. they closed quickly while she was regaining her feet. Sam focused on the slightly taller of the two, taking a nice lice out of it's side with a clawed fist but the other swung two clenched fists into her side with all of it's gangly might. the female feline Yowled and glared at the pair, trying to back out from between them.

Hela stood to full and squared her enemy in her sights. She faintly heard the yowl of the feline girl and the orders from Troll to Exert. "Come... If you are hungry." The flexible serpent charged her, getting a light slash across the face for it's impudence. "I hope you enjoy the taste of steel."

The thing Hissed angrily at her and feinted to the left attempting to lash her with it's tail but she dodged the tail slap easily. Thinking it had an opening it charged Hela again, going for her while she looked to be exposed by the dodge.

Then with a single fast hard swipe it's thin neck was hacked apart. The exceptionally keen blade made a single swipe at his neck and he was separated at it. Hela flicked the pip sending a small smatter of blood at the ground and reassessed the situation. Who needed her the most now?

Alano's eyes focused on the thing before him. It charged, face hissing with feral hunger and dementia as it managed to open up the young Latino's side. It gave a slight chuckle before its throat gurgled. Alano had quirked his eyebrow and made it die but that left the bone warriors inert.

Focusing his mind on just the battle at hand, he sent the golem-esque bone masses into the fray, doing what he could to keep a few of them back. It took more focus than he liked to break bodies and he was quickly losing that while worrying about his Kitkat out there without him. He knew that he had to be Bones and not worry but it still nagged at him, eating at his focus so he just tried to focus on his creations to hold the line.

Troll was glad to see Exert's efforts pay off, following immediately with a powerful chop of the axe into the creatures chest. He managed an eyebrow quirk when he realized how close he had been to nicking her. He didn't have time for an apology as they still had teammates to chase after.

He removed the axe with a quick jerk and charged towards the tree thing attacking his feline friend. He even managed a surprise by doing a long jump and burying the axe in the tree's side, knocking it back down.

Loric moved and his blade followed, carving the degenerate mutants along its path. It would have been great if there wasn't so many of them. They needed a united front again and only his team could do that. He had to hold the line so they had something to come back to.

He could notice Bones losing focus. He was a powerful mutant but he was worried about a redhead in a bad situation. Loric could sympathize but this could get bad if that boy didn't keep it together.

Then he saw it. It had to be the leader of this particular group. It was some ten foot tall blue, reptilian Centaur thing. It's face seemed like something out of Lovecraft with a sideways mouth as it charged. It seemed that mutations were getting more and more horrific with some strains. Maybe they could study it later but first... Loric had to kick ass.

One minute she was holding an Ugly down, the next it was a two-part comedy of sorts. More blood. Close blade, almost gave her a haircut. Not good. She decided to not let that get to her. A hand grabbed her ankle and pulled her towards the opposite direction. Ee! She tried kicking at it and ended up getting that foot caught as well. Her arms still around the legs of the ugly clung tightly as she fought to sit up against the force.

She got the leverage she needed and hoisted herself up into a sitting position, taking the dead creature with her. Flinging the corpse forward, she managed to thud it on the head of the assailant. It was a furry something or another, yet another something to kill before it killed someone else or tried for her life. It was going for the latter right now.

This one had dull rounded teeth, perfect for pain. She didn't want those teeth latching onto her. Tattered nails that would tear shreds, too. . . Buggish eyes, empty of all color. She paled and her body freed a leg so she could send her light heel into its' jaw without feeling too bad for it. THe leverage alone granted her the space to wriggle away and grab a better stance. Time to move.
